New York mental-health context
Understanding mental-health needs in New York
Public-health figures help describe the need for care and barriers to access. They do not establish ketamine's effectiveness, predict outcomes, or determine whether you should receive treatment.
- New York crisis support
- 24/7
- Data period: Official crisis page checked 2026-11-04
- Call or text 988 or chat online for free, confidential trained crisis support 24/7, including emotional distress, suicide concerns, mental health crises and substance use concerns. Crisis support and service navigation do not establish ketamine eligibility, availability, or insurance coverage. Medicaid eligibility, covered indications, provider participation and prior authorization must be verified with the applicable plan; these general sources do not establish coverage for ketamine or esketamine.

Finding care in your service area
New York residents can use 988 for crisis support and the Office of Mental Health program directory for routine care navigation. Medicaid members should confirm covered services, participating providers and prior authorization with their plan. These counts describe access infrastructure, not illness prevalence, current appointment openings or ketamine availability. No statewide prevalence estimate is presented without verified data.

Costs, coverage & aftercare
Before you book treatment
Ask for a written estimate
IV, IM and compounded ketamine for psychiatric conditions are off-label; many programs are self-pay. Ask about assessment, medication, administration, monitoring, therapy and maintenance charges separately. We do not assume a statewide price.
Check Spravato coverage
Spravato is FDA-approved esketamine, not the same as ketamine infusions. Coverage is not guaranteed. Check eligibility, prior authorization, network status, drug and visit charges, deductibles and copays with your insurer and clinic.
Plan a ride & follow-up
Spravato requires a certified healthcare setting and monitoring for at least two hours. Arrange transport home; do not drive until the next day after restful sleep. For other ketamine treatments, follow your clinician's instructions. Follow-up and maintenance depend on response and tolerability.
Ask who manages your medications, how your usual clinician will receive updates, and whom to contact between visits. Neither a shortage designation nor local depression statistics show that ketamine is appropriate or effective for you. Consult a licensed physician.

Clinic locations and nearby options are shown separately. Confirm services, appointment availability and coverage with each independent practice.
